Caution: Sunglasses Required!

Put on your sunglasses now before you sear your retinas!  Haha but seriously, this is one of the brightest nail polishes I've ever seen: Orly Glowstick.  In fact, this would probably work as a glowstick!
As much as I love this insane color, the formula sucks with the suckish power of a thousand suns.  I used two coats of a white base coat (again...Sinful Colors Snow Me White), and two coats of Glowstick.  You can see some drag marks (there's one really noticeable on my pinky), and it didn't self-level at all.  However, I will deal with the formula problems because this is an AMAZING color <3

This is probably the most color accurate photo I got.  I took it near a window.  It's so neon yellow it actually leans toward a little green...

Indoor lighting with flash: it looks a little lemon-y here, which it ISN'T.
Sidenote: you like my comforter in the background there? ;)

Holding my neon yellow coat!  Yes, it was the exact same neon shade.  SO COOL.  It's probably the brightest coat known to mankind :)

Okay.  You have my permission to take off your sunglasses now :)

Stained glass windows?

Hi guys!
I knew I wanted to do something with rainbow colors, and this was sorta created on the spot :) I used 7 different colors:
-Sinful Colors Snow Me White (base)
-China Glaze in Hey Sailor (red)
-Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Hard as Nails in Sun Kissed (orange)
-Sally Hansen blah blah blah in Mellow Yellow (yellow)
-China Glaze in Entourage (green)
-China Glaze in Sky High Top (blue)
-China Glaze in Grape Pop (purple)

I also used Wet N Wild Black Creme and Bundle Monster plate 208, and topped with off with a thick coat of Seche Vite top coat.

Wow! Okay, picture time :)

Before stamping
I started with one coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me white, and then dabbed on the colors.  I was originally going to do the full 6 colors on each nail, but I ran out of room and decided to just alternate :)

 After stamping

It sorta looks like stained glass windows!  Maybe? ....not at all?

I really liked this one and I got a lot of compliments!  However, Grape Pop (the purple) just has something about it where it chips like crazy.  I've worn it before and it just chips off way faster than any other China Glaze.  Hm....

Da na na na na na na na da na na na na na na na!!

BATMANNNN!
So I went to see the new Batman a couple weeks ago and how could I not do Batman nails?  I looooved the movie, it was my favorite of the three <3
Even though the newer Batmans don't incorporate yellow into his suit, I wanted to use it.  And since I absolutley suck at all things freehand, I used a Bundle Monster plate!

3 coats of Sally Hansen Xteme Wear Hard As Nails (holy crap say that 5 times fast) Mellow Yellow, stamped with Wet N Wild Black Creme and BM-213

My right hand!  It's usually a little camera shy, but I coaxed it in front of the camera :)
I painted my pointer finger with one coat of WNW Black Creme because the yellow smudged and I didn't have the patience to do another 3 coats of Mellow Yellow :P

Top coat and done!  I didn't want to take these off! (even though they had some flaws ;)

Now I'm off to go stalk google and see when the Dark Knight Rises comes out of DVD.

I put the "sand" in "Sand Tropez"

Hi everyone!
I have a super exciting manicure today!  My sister came up with the brilliant idea of dipping my nails in sand, kind of like a caviar manicure.  My mom found a bag of sand we took home from our last trip to Hawai'i, and I thought what better base polish to use than Essie's Sand Tropez :)
I started by painting one coat of ST.  After I painted on my second coat, I dipped my nails one at a time in the bag of sand while they were still wet (so the sand would stick).  For my ring finger, I only dipped half for an accent nail.  I slightly pressed the sand into the polish, and I was all done!  I purposely didn't use top coat because it would have ruined the gritty effect of the sand.

 Voila!
(enlarge to see the cool texture!)

Unfortunately, I had to take them off after about 6 hours.  We went to dinner for my sister's birthday, and when I put on my dress the sand kept catching on the fabric.  I didn't want to rip my dress (since it's basically like having sandpaper on your nails) so I removed them :(
I treated them like glitter nails for the removal process.  I soaked them in pure acetone for about a minute or so, and then the sand came off pretty easily.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my sandy nails :)

Splotches of Polish

Hi everyone!
Today I have a manicure inspired by one that Chalkboard Nails did a while ago.  Here's the link to my inspiration :)
I started off with one coat of Sinful Colors Snow Me White (my new go-to white base coat).  Then, using China Glaze's Sugar High and Grape Pop, I brushed on random strokes of color with the nail polish brush.  Then I took CG Custom Kicks and filled in any big open spaces of white.  There was some white left, but I liked the way it looked :)
A thick coat of Seche Vite base coat to protect my manicure, and voila!  There you have it hahaha

Before I added Custom Kicks (teal).

 After I added Custom Kicks.

I loved how easy this was!  I suck at all things free-hand, so I'm happy I finally found a super simple design that looks complicated.  One lady at my gym even asked if they were stickers :)
Thanks for reading! <3

An apology and a manicure :)

Hi everyone! I am so sorry I haven't posted in over 2 weeks!! I was in California for a week for my brother's Marine Boot Camp graduation, and then I've just been hanging out (and painting my nails of course!!) with my brother and family.  So sorry!  But I'm back now, with some awesome manicures coming up ;)
When I went to Cali, I didn't bring many polishes cause I didn't want them to break :P  I just brought a white and a neon pink (Sinful Colors Snow Me White and China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy).  Here are the pictures I took in the hotel room we stayed in for one night haha :)

The dresser in the hotel had an empty cubby-hole-thingy and it was painted black, so I turned on my camera's flash and tried to capture the neon, which I didn't exactly succeed at...

1 coat Snow Me White, 1 coat Flip Flop Fantasy.  It held up surprisingly long; longer than most of my manicures.  I did have to redo it a little more than halfway through the trip.

Well this is kind of a boring post, but at least now I'm back!  And I'll have more exciting posts coming up ;)  Thanks for reading!! <3

Taste the fastest rainbow in the world!

Hahaha that title was my sad attempt at combining skittles ("taste the rainbow") and leopard (fastest mammal in the world...I think...)
Today I have leopard skittles!  (Skittle nails is where you have each nail a different color)  Yes, I used stamping again but I can't help it! :)
Index finger: two coats of Essie Lights
Middle finger: two coats of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Hard as Nails in Sun Kissed (man that's a long name!)
Ring finger: two coats of Sally Hansen blah blah blah in Mellow Yellow
Pinkie finger: Two coats of Sinful Colors Snow Me White
Stamping supplies: Bundle Monster plate BM-221, Konad stamper, an old gift card for a scraper, and Wet N Wild Black Creme

I had China Glaze Bing Cherry on my thumb but I kinda screwed up the stamping on that one so I didn't take a picture :)

Well that's it!  Also, I'm leaving for California tomorrow (my brother's graduating from Marine Boot Camp!) so I won't be posting for about a week :(  But then I shall have lots of new awesome manicures!  Thanks for reading guys <3
